This is my 4th mani for the Weekly Nail Art Challenge (#WNAC2016) on instagram which is hosted by @missbellatracey, @simplynailogical and @kgrdnr.
The theme for the month is Glitz n Glam
Fresh Paint Sugar Crush |
I used:
1 Coat of Funky Fingers Dark Knight
Funky Fingers Gesso
Fresh Paint Sugar Coat
Nutra Nail High Glossy Top Coat
2.0mm Striping Tape
Painters Tape
and
and
Tweezers
I unfortunately don't own any indie polishes yet and there aren't many drugstore flakies. I was lucky enough to find Sugar Crush on clearance at 5 Below for $0.50 a couple years back when I first got into polish. It looked so unique in the bottle I up the last 3 bottles they had and it was probably the best decision ever(considering they don't make it anymore). Sugar Crush is a multi shift flakie in a clear base, it shifts from green, yellow, orange to red and has pretty good coverage in 2 coats.
This mani was pretty easy to do but it was all about the taping and making sure everything was lined up straight. I used my go to one coat wonder Dark Knight as my base and 2.0mm striping tape to make the stripes and painters tape to make the crisp V shapes.
I love the finished look, hope you do too!
Thanks for stopping by!
